In our country, the emissions from the motorcycle account for a relatively largerratio of vehicle emission pollution, badly polluted the atmosphere environment. There isan urgent need to improve technology and reduces emissions of motorcycle, it wasirreversible that the carburetor engine has replaced by EFI engine. But conventional EFIhas the disadvantages of the complex structure and high cost that can hardly be acceptedby users. In this paper, the traditional carbureted motorcycle was improved, and wedesigned the electronic control systems in the purpose of saving costs and idle stabilitycontrol.There are two main factors which affect the performance of the engine idle-speed,one is the flow volume of gas mixture in the cylinder, another is the ignition timing of thecombustible mixture within the cylinder. The topic is about the EFI conversion based onthe motorcycle of LY172MM, and a suitable electronic control system is produced for themotorcycle, two different control methods are designed for the motorcycle idle-speedcontrol system. One way is to develop an adaptive fuzzy control method to control the airflow rate into the cylinder, thus to change the combustion speed, temperature, pressure inthe cylinder, so that to change the speed ultimately, and analyze the advantage ofadaptive fuzzy control fuzzy. Another way is to control the ignition advance angle byusing the fuzzy PID hybrid control method, which is to use the fuzzy control when thespeed deviation is larger so that to accelerate the convergence speed, but to use the PIDcontrol when the speed deviation is smaller so that to control the accurate, while usethese two methods when the engine works in the transition condition, so that to changethe engine speed by changing the ignition timing.Through the experimental studying of idle speed control strategy, we found themethod of controlling air flow, the performance of system response is good, the range ofignition timing control, the range of speed fluctuation is kind of wide, and fail to reflectthe effect of precise control of PID.
