Hydropower makes an important part of the energy supply in China, and it is ourimportant choice of dealing with blowout energy demand and renewable energy sources.With the hydropower development, Hydropower unit capacity is growing, and theeconomic efficiency and safety have become more and more important in hydroelectricpower generation enterprise. The operation condition of hydropower units which are thecore equipments has been increasingly important. The maintenance methods of stateoverhaul are also beginning to develop step by step in the power plant. This paper hasdeveloped condition monitoring and analysis system of hydropower units to grasp theoperation of the unit state, and analyze the reasons of failures, which can provide technicalsupport for the state overhaul.This article discusses how to develop the condition monitoring and analysis systemby Visual Studio2005, and improves the classical FFT algorithm. And the conditionmonitoring and analysis system supports up to256signals synchronous to monitor the unitall-round, it can display the waveform, and list the signal characteristic value, and displayaxis state, etc, to reflect unit operation information more comprehensive.Data analysis software combines with the specific requirements of the hydropower,providing a powerful analysis tool to assess the unit operation state and find the faultreasons. This analysis software provides a full range of signal analysis methods, such asall kinds of time domain statistics and FFT analysis. It also integrates the efficiency testand dynamic balance test tools, offering the perfect and practical analysis method for thehydropower units, and playing an important role on improving the safety and economicbehavior of the hydropower plant.
