Its has been gradually known, water is the basic natural resources and strategiceconomic resources, and safe drinking water has been placed in the position of thepeople’s livelihood, social harmony and stability,however, issues related to watersource area conservation and management is been worried.Based on actual situation of our drinking water area protection and management,through researching and analyzing status of the drinking water sources area protectionand management of home and abroad, combined with the main problems of suchstudies, this article use the causal analysis diagram method, analyzed and classifiedwater source protection and management of the important factor, and arrow on the lineto signify their relationship, through sorting, inductive analysis to find the reason to sortout the causal relationship, then make a reasonable countermeasures, present themanagement program. this essay discussed the drinking water source protectionmanagement system, the legal system and other aspects, its useful for researching ofdrinking water source protection and management.At the same time, this article take Panjiakou、Daheiting reservoir water sourceprotection project as a typical case and technology demonstration, combine engineeringmeasures with non-engineering measures, merge together the causal analysis diagramand other management tools, controlthe risk of contamination effectively，andensurethe normal operation of the entire water management system.
