This paper is mainly to solve that the strength problem of the cylinder and the barrelroll ring when the drum mixer was provided with a filling rate of the mixed material. Indynamics, the paper completed the cylinder’s inherent frequency analysis and drew thelow order natural frequency and vibration mode of the cylinder. Finally using the virtualprototype simulated the working process of drum mixer, and the contact force ofsupporting wheel was analyzed as it at different installation positions. Some designprocedures, reference data and technical guidance have been given out according to theanalysis result.On the basis of previous research results, drum mixer parameters had beencalculated. The three-dimensional model of this drum mixer was set up by means of Pro/esoftware, and a motion simulation of one periodic time has been set up. After doing areasonable simplification, the drum mixer model was imported to ANSYS software bymeans of data interface. Then the whole model was meshed, and the finite element modelof the drum mixer was founded. The load was applied on the finite element model and tosolve, plotting out cylinder stress, strain contour map. Through the analytical calculation,the third strength theory would be used to check strength of cylinder.The cylinder wound be made a dynamics analysis. Using the ANSYS modal analysiscalculated the cylinder’s natural frequency and the vibration modes, proposed cylinder’sworking frequency should be avoided when it was designed. Then the forces of the drummixer cylinder are analyzed in the axial direction and the radial direction, the stressforces on the four metal rollers are calculated. Using the virtual prototype softwareADAMS simulated drum mixer working process, the contact force of metal roller andcylinder wound be measured. We attempted to change the metal roller position, andmeasured the contact force of metal roller again. Then the range of the metal rollerinstallation error would be summarized. From those results, the technical support andreference data for the drum mixer design and installation could be provided.
