The growth of demand for construction machinery provided compaction machinedevelopment with big development space and background, particularly superiority tandemvibratory roller. Tandem vibratory roller development is in transition stage of independentresearch and innovation after imitation research and independent development. Both travelingand vibration hydraulic systems are compared and analyzed in order to improve thecomprehensive performance of tandem vibratory roller.In the article some typical tandem vibratory rollers domestic and overseas are analyzed,tested and researched. First tandem vibratory rollers’ structures are summarized and compared.Then the loads are tested and data are processed of different gears and different modes,including starting, vibration start, vibration stop, parking and smooth working process, powerneeds, pressure impact and the rotating speed of the engine. Travelling hydraulic system gearssetting should be based on vibration parameters. Speed stiffness is mainly affected by theaccuracy and quality of components, motor displacement, the mechanical efficiency of thereducer and reducer ratio etc. However, oversize speed stiffness will cause serious reverse.The reasons of the huge dynamic power and pressure impact are figure out. The efficiencyand the power of the hydraulic element is relatively low in stationary process. So it’s main toreduce the peak power and improve the power utilization of the stationary process for travelsystem.The structural parameters of mechanical parts, the road load conditions and the hydraulicsystem parameters affect the pressure impact of the vibratory hydraulic system. Vibration startand time is affected by travelling system starting, the pressure impact and the maximumsystem working pressure. Vibratory hydraulic system start-up peak power takes up more thanhalf of the total power of the engine, and controller is designed to stagger the peak powers ofthe travelling system and vibratory hydraulic system and to reduce the peak vibrating powerconsume.Machinery&hydraulic co simulation model is establish based on Adams and AMESimsoftware. The correctness and accuracy of the simulation model are verified by comparing thesimulation and test results. The idea of travel system pump displacement control signal sectional design is put forward, and this method can achieve good starting performance bysimulation.
