With the globalization of international trade development trend, the current rapiddevelopment of container transport has become the main maritime transport. Container portequipment research has become a hot point and container cranes become one of the toolsrequired in the containers loading and unloading. Therefore, the quayside container cranemonitoring system research has the important application value.In recent years, along with the improvement of industry worldwide, auto-control fieldalso made a great progress, and thus promoted the development of electrical controltechniques in container cranes. Our national port machinery industry has put great efforts toresearch and develop container crane electrical monitor control techniques, and gotachievements which are embodied in quantity. But the nuclear techniques of electricalmonitor control, the most valuable part, are still controlled by some developed countries. Forthis reason, this article tries to explore in the aspects of theoretical research and practicalapplication of large-size container crane electrical control technology, how to adoptinternational advanced auto-control technology on our current industry level to furtherdecrease the technology gap between developed country and us, and to breed more keytechniques which have their own intellectual properties.As an application research for the electrical monitor control techniques applied inlarge-size container cranes, this article has studied the involved theoretical issues and givendeep investigations with the support of practical examples to explore the feasibility of these theories which may be used in engineering field.The questions need to be answered in this article and the main work are as follows:1.Analysis of domestic and international container crane monitoring systemdevelopment and research status, including: container crane remote monitor system basicstructure; remote monitoring system; PROFIBUS-DP communication in container cranemonitoring system control application; crane machine and the remote management systemprinciple and application;2.Analysis of container crane monitoring system problems and to explore itsimprovement plan, which includes: current uses of CMS problem analysis and classifiedsummary; container crane monitoring system design of the basic requirements of theidentified; container crane monitoring system improvement and implementation schemeanalysis; monitoring system, implementation and key technology; monitoring system researchon the content of the design; in the PLC design basis, put forward the bridge crane monitoringsystem solutions, and to study the control system hardware configuration, softwareprogramming and interface design, development of the management system of containercrane;3.The container crane monitoring system function design, including: Container Crane infieldbus system topological structure design; container crane monitoring system structure andfunction design; container crane monitoring system function module and man-machineinterface design; design of container crane monitoring system data; how to implement thecrane machine and the remote management;4.The container crane monitoring system implementation and verification, including: onthe container crane monitoring system debugging, optimizing until completion of the project;equipment status monitoring system and screen design and verification; maintenance alarmsystem and alarm screen implementation and verification; diagnosis system and screen designand verification; programming tool module function and equipment maintenance screenrealization and verification; statistical report generation function and the production of screendesign and verification.As the monitoring technology in the large container cranes in the applied research, inthis paper the theoretical issues involved are discussed in depth, and gives some practicalexamples, in order to explore these theories in the project practice application feasibility.
