Quayside container crane is a normal port crane equipment for lifting containersin many ports around the world. The Designing of quayside container crane’s mentalstructure occupy a large part of the entire process of designing a quayside containercrane, and the bearing capacity of the crane’s structure is the main performanceparameters of the cranes. As the development of the industry, traditional designmethod is gradually replaced by a emerging modern design method. The moderndesign method, such as Block-based design, optimization design, finite elementmethod and parameterized design, has occupy the main position in product design.The main method for structure design is the finite element method, and designersmainly use the finite element method software to analyse all the calculation contentsof the structure. It will take a long period of time and may make some mistakesduring using the finite elment method software to analyse the large structure of thecrane. The process need the designer to be very skilled in using the software, and theresult may be different because of the difference of the designers’ experience. Theparameterized method of the quayside container crane encapsulate the process ofusing ANSYS to have the structure of the crane analysed parameterizedly. Theengineer just need to operate the software that developed by this thesis instead ofoperate ANSYS directly. The main research contents of this thesis are listed below:1) Study the whole process of the analysis of mental structure by summarizingthe traditional method of structure analysis by using ANSYS. Study the APDLlanguage of ANSYS to learn the function language using in the process of analysingthe quayside container parameterizedly.2)Make a method which can discribe all the strcture features of the quaysidecontainer crane by considering the trait of quayside container crane and ANSYS andset up the mathematical model.3)Study the contents of introducing the principle of structure calculation andload setting in the F.E.M RULES FOR THE DESIGN OF HOISTING APPLIANCES,and use Visual Basic6.0to package these contents.4)Realize the method to extract the data and result of structure calculation by studying the APDL language of ANSYS and the powerful features of the Visual Basichigh-level language.5)Create a software to analyse mental structure of quayside container craneparameterizedly by Visual Basic6.0software, and make sure that the software musthave have all the specified functions, a simple Interface and a easy way to operate.The software must be easy for the ordinary engineer to operate to finish the finiteelement analysis of the quayside container crane.
