With the development and expansion of the container transportation business of Tianjin port,the container crane, as one of the loading and unloading machines of Tianjin port,plays a more and more important role in the port transportation, and meanwhile, more container cranes need more professional drivers and maintenance workers. It is difficult to teach the new drivers or the maintenance workers in a real container crane ,because a container crane is very expensive and always busy in loading and unloading . We have to do this kind of training in a simulator worktable.The main part of the electrical control worktable consists of Hoist,Trolley Travel,Gantry Travel,Boom Hoist,and the assistant part consists of Spreader,Cable Reel of Spreader, Anti-sway System,Gantry Cable Reel, Tension System. The purpose of this paper is to design a electrical control worktable which is on the basis of analysing and researching the operation principal of the container crane and to simulate the 4 main parts of the electrical control system . This paper is focus on designing the software and hardware of PLC and transducer of this system and researching the application of this system, in order to help the trainees master the skills by using this simulator and to promote the efficiency of training.
