Centrifugal compressor are widely used as a large key equipment in many industrial fields such as metallurgical, petrochemical, natural gas transmission, refrigeration and power. It Is a and integrated system with complicated structure and working principle involve in machine, electricity, oil and gas. It has many prime motors such as centrifugal steam, electric, steam turbine or centrifugal energy recovery. Traditionally, the combination of the centrifugal compressor and prime motor are called the centrifugal compressor unit. Now centrifugal compressor are used in many fluid devices, such as synthesis gas and cycle gas in synthetic ammonia installation, processes natural gas in reforming devices, carbon dioxide gas and refinery catalysis and restructuring devices of oil refinery plant. As the limitation of economic conditions, these units are isolated operation without back-up unit, so in order to ensure that these units that equivalent to the heart devices safe and stable operation of generating units, the design of a reliable compressor’s anti-surge fuzzy controller improving the control quality is the problem must be resolved.First, the paper introduces the basic principles of a centrifugal compressor, the development of centrifugal compressor anti-surge control methods and their control principle, the reason of surge occurrence and design features of anti-surge control system are analyzed, as well as the centrifugal compressor anti-surge control method-the fixed limited flow control method. Then a centrifugal compressor control method based on fuzzy control is proposed in the paper and an anti-surged fuzzy controller is designed to make sure that the effective use of energy, and better anti-surged quality and satisfy the technological requirements in full consideration of all factors that may occur during the running of the centrifugal compressor. The anti-surged control system based on fuzzy control is designed using fixed limited flow to satisfy the technological load requirements of compressor.Finally, the designed centrifugal compressor control system based on fuzzy control is applied to practice, the running result shows that the control system is effective and plays an active role in stability running of centrifugal compressor.
