With accelerating urbanization in China, The urban rail transit will usher high-speeddevelopment over the next few years. The scale of urban rail vehicles increasing rapidlyand the demand of localization rate improving continuously bring lots of new subjects onthe study of key components performance of the vehicle. Traction drive system of urbanrail vehicles and traction motor,which is the controlled object of the system,as animportant part of the vehicle system, therefore establishing traction transmissionexperimental platform for research vehicle traction system and traction motorcharacteristics are very necessary. The load simulation of traction motor runningenvironment has very important and urgent action for urban rail traction related study, forcan accurately study traction systems and traction motor characteristics, it must establishthe resistance of the mathematical model of vehicle in different operation conditions anddeduce the load torque mathematical model of the traction motor and establish accuratesimulation control system of running resistance of urban rail vehicle.The system of load resistance simulation and control studied in this paper system andelectrical braking of the mass transit vehicles is made up by AC traction system, traction motor,three-level flywheel,load loading system, measurement and control equipments of virtualinstruments, and a industrial control computer, it can realize precise control of load torque oftraction motor through advanced virtual instrument technology. The details are as follows:(1) This paper analyses running load resistance of urban rail vehicles and establish themathematical model, the load characteristics of traction motor was further studied andestablish the mathematical model of real load torque of traction motor and equivalentrotating inertia from force and power, getting the actual load torque expression of tractionmotor.(2) On the basis of technical data of Line2provided by Shanghai Metro, the tractionsystem, load system and the inertia system (3flywheels) and other hardware were selectedand designed. The platform of load simulation system of urban rail vehicles was basically set up.(3) Based on the virtual instrument technique, measurement&control platform based on the trainoperation speed and running line when conditions deduced produced the resistance of the traction motorload torque given value, through to the load motor torque closed-loop control realization of the tractionmotor load resistance of real-time loading for a selected real-time detection and characteristicparameters in a diagram shown.(4) The related experiment was done on the platform and the data of experiment were analyzed andstudied.
