With the rapid development of expressway’s construction, the pavement’performances of expressways which had been built in the late80’s early90’s in Chinagradually declined and emerged various diseases as well as damages in varying degrees.The status of asphalt pavement’s urgent need for conservation marks that our countryhas already entered the time in which road construction is equally important to roadmaintenance.Considering the actual situation of large highway maintenance scale and limitedfunds, we should take the rapid in-place maintenance technology and select reasonableopportunity and to implement the pavement preventive maintenance in accordance withthe changing of expressway‘s asphalt surfacing performance. So that it could maintainpavement’s in good service condition, diminish the incidence of diseases, delay itsdevelopment, prolong pavement’s life and reduce maintenance costs. This has the vitalsignificance regarding to the expressway and social economy’s sustainable development.Based on that, this paper adopted AHP–GRAP model and weighted TOPSIS method toresearch the applicability of Hot In-place Recycling technology in asphalt pavement’spre-maintenance of Chongqing expressway synthetically from the aspect of technicaleffect, economic and environmental benefit.The result shows that:As a rapid in-place maintenance technology in asphalt pavement’s pre-maintenance,Hot In-place Recycling technology is designed according to original pavement’sgradation and using performance so as to restore the performance of aged asphalt binderagent and effectively improve pavement gradation and performance by adding newmaterials and related regenerate agents thus extending the service life of road.Hot In-place Recycling technology can take full use of original asphalt pavementmixture and neither has to transit waste materials nor disposal dumping problems.Moreover, the vibration and noise produced in its construction process are quite smallso that it is friendly with environment. In addition, its construction period is short andusually takes a single-road execution method so that the working face occupied is smalland it can also open traffic sooner after construction with little interruption to traffic.The effect evaluation of Hot In-place Recycling technology has to integrate the overall efficiency of technology, economy and environment among which technicalapplicability is the key indicator in judging whether Hot In-place Recycling technologyis definitely effect or not.
