Traffic network planning is an important part of city planning, traffic demand forecast isone of the crucial technical content and important basis. Combined with the "TwelfthFive-Year Plan" period of Guangzhou city highway network planning,this thesis suggests theresearch on traffic demand forecasting of urban traffic.The main research contents are asfollows:First, based on in general carding the theories and methods of traffic demand forecastingof urban traffic at home and abroad, this study analyzes the current situation of economy andsociety, population, employment and land utilization of this city and makes a prediction for itsdevelopment in the Twelfth Five-Year of Guangzhou city.Secondly, this study analyzes the current situation in traffic develops of Guangzhou andcombined with the current statue and existing problems of highway network, Through to thetraffic investigation and the analysis of traffic data and traffic composition, it made the mainconclusion of the traffic investigation.Then, this study discusses the thought,forecast model and method on traffic demandforecast, analyzes traffic generation and attraction and the traffic flow,makes the area trafficdistribution forecast.It provides scientific data base for the layout of traffic road network ofGuangzhou city in the Twelfth Five-Year.Finally, based on the result of traffic demand forecast, the current highway network andtraffic condition,and the full consideration of national and provincial trunk highway layoutand the needs of social and economic development, this study makes the layout of traffic roadnetwork of Guangzhou city in the Twelfth Five-Year.Through to the technical evaluation,italso analyzes the feasibility and rationality of the layout planning project.
