The distribution network is an important part of the power system, and reasonable distribution network can save a lot of cost and improve power supply reliability. In this paper, the middle voltage distribution network planning based on Tianjin Binhai hi-tech industrial development area is studied.Firstly, the small area load density method, elastic coefficient method and analogy method is proposed to forecast the load, the result is checked by load density and electricity consumption per capita. Establishing the locating and sizing model of substation and solving it, the station site and supply area is amended combined with urban planning and expert advice.Secondly, establishing the network structure optimization model and solving it. Selecting appropriate connnecion mode and combining the road network to get the network structure when the economy is optimal. The calculation method of distribution power flow is studied, and calculating the short-circuit current, checking "N-1"、"N-2" and stopping of all substation. The result shows that it is correct corresponding the guiding. Recent supply scheme is designed to solve the recent supply problems.Finally, investment estimation and efficiency evaluation of the planning is done. Reasonable distribution network planning design for the hi-tech industrial development area brings significant social and economic benefits.
