With the progress and development of the social, users are increasingly high quality requirements to power, the only way to improve the quality of electricity supply is the development and implementation of distribution automation. The power distribution terminal is the important constituent in the DA system, is located the foundation course. The DA system real-time data, the breakdown automatic reduction criterion, switching gear data and so on movement operating mode all originate from the power distribution terminal, and carrier on the failure isolation, the load shift and through the power distribution on terminal restores the power supply to the non-breakdown sector. So, the development of distribution terminals which as a part of the basis of distribution automation, has great significance to the realization of power distribution automation.The thesis discussed the status of China’s distribution terminals, referring the designing experience of the feeder terminal unit that we got home and abroad, designed a intelligent control box, which applied to the pole switch of10kV feeder. For the current implementation of the feeder automation, the control box to be achieved on the function and structure are described in detail. This equipment adopts high-performance chip STM32F as a core, the all hardware modules of entire control box are designed, including the main CPU module, data acquisition module, digital input and output mochiles, communication modules, and energy supply system. Use the embedded real-time multi-duty operating system in the software design, improve the system’s real-time and flexibility. The article uses the FFT algorithm to the detected signal by the control box, and described the main protection principles of the failure to determine. In addition, to improve the reliability of intelligent control box, the paper analysis and made some response measures to the interference of the intelligent control box under the harsh environment. Finally, we tested it in the laboratory and lOkV field. And results show that the intelligent control box meets the expected requirements of a fully functional, and has high reliability.
