With increasing automation of the distribution network, distribution transformer terminals raise many problems in terms of cost, accuracy, communication and reliability. Therefore, in order to improve power quality and power supply reliability, it is necessary to design a new type of intelligent distribution transformer terminal.Based on the study of the current development situation of intelligent distribution transformer terminal, an overall scheme of it is designed. The whole scheme mainly includes function control and data acquisition. Data acquisition unit is responsible for collecting the electricity information of distribution transformers and power station area. Function control unit is responsible for counting and analyzing data, monitoring the state of transformer, saving data, responding to the master commands, etc.Taking LCP1788 microprocessor and multifunctional metering chip ATT7022 E as the core, basing on the modularization design idea, the hardware system of intelligent distribution transformer terminal control unit was designed. The system includs many function modules, such as power supply, processing unit, data acquisition, data storing and displaying as well as communication.The system software of intelligent distribution transformer terminal is designed. The functions that data collection, communication interface, metering chip correction, interface operation, communication protocols analysis and centralized meter reading are realized.Finally, the functions and performance of intelligent distribution transformer terminal are tested. The results show that the terminal has characteristics of high accuracy, reasonable methods of controlling and reliable performance and it conforms to the relevant standards and technical specifications completely. So this terminal can improve the quality and reliability of power effectively.
