The main task of dispatching which is the crucial part of the power system is organizing, directing, guiding and coordinating the operation of power grid to ensure the power grid security, stability, high-quality operation. With the development of economy and science, people’s living standards are improving, electricity demand is at rapid growth and the scale of the power system is increasing, dispatching is becoming harder and harder. Therefore, how to effectively reduce the difficulty and improve the level of dispatch, how to combine progress in information technology to create intelligent dispatching is the focus of our study.Under the general trend of the construction of the smart grid, the introduction of visualization technology in power system applications is necessary. Firstly, this paper introduces in details how to use TWaver to build the grid topology in Intelligent Management System of Dispatching to a full range of power system show. Meanwhile, the system uses a lot of other visualization techniques such as:regional category management map, regional color map, dynamic flow graph, bar graphs, etc. The entire system is at a high degree of visualization, Human-Computer Interaction is friendly, and the operation is simple, all these are good for dispatching.Secondly, according to user needs, we propose a flow calculation method by using the radial features of distribution network and analyze the grid from transmission congestion, voltage, current or other aspects by making use of the result of power flow calculation in order to dispatch and decision-make expediently.In allusion to arrange the maintenance schedule, this paper adopts an integrated optimization model, achieve optimizing maintenance time through the main optimization model and achieve optimizing maintenance path by solving the sub-optimization model to make the schedule more scientific and reasonable, and the final maintenance path is displayed associated with the topology so that the staff can understand in depth, Moreover,create the decision support tools including experience database, learning and test database, fault identification database and real-time fault analysis, which is of great benefit in dispatching.Finally, on the basis of analyzing the overall business of the system, the paper builds up a design proposal of Intelligent Management System of Dispatching based on J2EE. This paper introduces the design principles of architecture, security and data interface, and function of the core module of the system.With the successful implementation of this system, it will become a powerful support tool for dispatching departments. Not only meet with the need of dispatching, but also meet with the need of the intelligent electrical network construction.
