With the rapid development of digital manufacturing technology in our country’s aviation manufacturing industry,3D digital design technology has been applicated widely.3D digitaldesign model has already replaced the2D drawings when the MBD(Model-Based-Definition)is implemented. With deep application of the MBD, the process design and workshopproduction must be influenced greatly and it cause the digital manufacturing technologychange significantly. The age of3D digital manufacturing is coming. This paper discusses thedesign and application of aircraft digital assembly process based on MBD.This paper discusses the development process of digital aviation manufacturing, studiesthe technology of MBD and CATIA/CAA and accomplishes the software development of theauxiliary system of aircraft digital assembly process based on MBD.This paper studies the aircraft digital assembly process, accomplishes the softwaredevelopment of the auxiliary system of aircraft digital assembly process based on CAAfurther development technology. This system implements the rapid acquisition, rapidclassified statistics, rapid marking, image express and so on. At the same time it complementsstandard parts fast loading. The software can quickly get related assembly information,improve the efficiency of process design, reduce unnecessary labor of craft workers, improvethe level of digital manufacturing, shorten the aircraft development cycle, reduce developmentcosts.
