Focus on the present domestic feeder automation system, it has faults of having a high fault rate, high frequency power outages, large area blackout, long fault isolation time, the lack of switch body real-time monitoring function, this paper presents a feeder automation system solution based on the circuit breaker and FTU, using feeder automation system with the improving local control mode and distant control mode,adopting advanced of local fault handle and long distance manage, reducing the fault processing time, the blackout area and blackout times. It also improve the reliable of power supply system.The line of feeder terminal unit FTU not only have traditional function of terminal line protection, but also have switch noumenon mechanical properties real-time monitoring function, through the on-line monitoring of distribution network switch chassis vibration, contact displacement, points closing speed parameters.Through analysis the running state, it can be correctly identified the switch of the current state condition and some potential fault, effectively reduce the switch troubleshooting time and switch maintenance times.To deal with the line faults and recovery the power supply of the place without faults, This design of protection has principle line,branch and contact switch protected mode, it can be selected base on the position in the line. The protection mode can be selected on the line actual requirement, voltage time type, current time type and place contact switch type three kinds of protection cab be used in protection logic, to avoid the problems because of the complicated circuit structure, the switch quantity brings line switch with difficulty and sequency problem., it also can greatly shorten the times of fault isolation and switch action numbers.Finally, the automation solutions successful applied in Gui Zhou Province City Wen Gan feeder automation system reconstruction, making the feeder automation system run reliability apparently, the average fault isolation time reduced to minutes. Feeder automation system has been fully achieved through the line switch equipment running state of real-time monitoring, it can provide more comprehensive and reliable operation data for distribution network planning, design, operation and maintenance work. It can also provide the reference for route optimization and economic operation.
