A Study On The Geo-space Of The Residential Area

Inhabitation is one of the most important parts in man's life. And residential building is so significant to social development that generally it takes up one half of the total area of all kinds of buildings in a city.City development leads to population explosion. Therefore, more and more residential space is demanded, which finally causes the short of city land resource. At the same time, the higher land price grows, the higher residential density is, while residential environment has never been improved. In order to save land as well as to improve public environment, a potential way should be taken into account. That is to make rational and comprehensive use of the geo-space of residential districts.Starting with environmental characteristics of geo-space, psychological and behavior characteristics of human being in the geo-space, the dissertation tries to study the possibility of exploring the geo-space for dwelling, traffic and set facilities. It also studies the way to improve the underground environment in order to meet mental and physical demand of human being when living in such environment.
