Permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) has been applied in various power levels because of its excellent performance for example small cubage, great power density and good efficiency. The application of PMSM depends heavily on the motor control technology. The vector control system has a big advantage in the control of PMSM because of its unique structure.With the permanent magnet synchronous motor laboratory bench, the theory of vector control on permanent magnet synchronous motor is studied further deeply. Based on in-depth understanding of the principle, a simulation model of the vector control system for the permanent synchronous motor is built. A lot of simulation researches based on these models prepare for a control system with the digital signal processor.Firstly, the main factors of PMSM control system are reviewed. The structure, characteristics and excellent performance of PMSM are introduced. Three types of reference frames are studied. In this paper, the mathematical models of PMSM in static three-phase coordinates and in rotary two-phase coordinates are studied. This paper introduces the basic theory of SVPWM. The principle of field oriented control is studied further deeply and a double closed loop vector control system is established.Then, a SIMULINK model of double closed loop vector control system is found. What’s more, a lot of simulation researches have been done based on these models.At last, a permanent magnet synchronous motor vector control platform is found. The paper is summarized and the direction is determined at the end.
