Research And Application Of The Configuration Schemes For Relay Protection System In Digital Substations

Digital Substation is the current development trend of power system and its maturity of related technologies will bring historic changes to the operation and management of the substation. Digital substation protection system as an important component of digital substation, some traditional methods no longer meet the requirements of the digital substation. GOOSE communication technology of digital Substation achieves real-time sharing of data information in the same standard platform, which simplifies the configuration of relay protection. Therefore, it is necessary to study the digital substation protect system configuration to explore the most reasonable protection scheme.Firstly, this paper makes an analysis on the key technologies of the digital substation. Secondly, take the Tianle all-digital substation as an example, the basic condition of the substation is introduced an the system architecture and the communication network construction scheme is also discussed. Thirdly, the overall principle of the relay protection configuration is summarized. Then the two schemes of relay protection configuration in the digital substation, which refers to the conventional configuration and the system protection configuration, are discussed. And the former one is finally selected as the Tianle substation protection configuration scheme. For the important component in the process level (such as protection device, measurement and control device) and bay level (such as electronic transformer, merging unit, and intelligent terminals) of the digital substation protection system, the corresponding configuration principle is summarized, and the specific configuration scheme is also proposed based on the Tianle substation. Finally, the economical and social significance of Tianle digital substation are analyzed.This article aims to explore a complete, practical substation digital protection system which can promote in the small and medium enterprises in the county and strive to provide reference experience, thus promote the pace of digitization of substations in our country.
