As the infrastructure of winter heating for city dwellers in China’s northern cities, the goal of urban heating projects is to create a comfortable living environment for city dwellers. With the rapid development of urban construction, the heat load of the city is also in constant increase, which proposes new requirements for the quality and level of urban heating. In this process, the urban central heating has been expanding and the technical level is also rising. Urban central heating is one of the city’s infrastructures; it marks a sign of urban people’s quality of life, the quality of atmospheric environment, ground transportation, urban waste disposal, the degree of civilization. Building a modern big city, we must create a good hardware environment; the central heating is an important measure to improve the urban environment, urban air quality, and the level of urban modernization. Central heating system, setting the peak adjusting heat source, has a good economic, environmental and social benefits, is the focus of national industrial policy to support the development of the industry.Making Datang Baoding central heating peak adjusting heat source project as an object of study, the paper analyzes the research status in China and abroad, and describes the basic theory of technical and economic analysis. Then, the paper analyzes the key technical issues of Datang Baoding central heating peak adjusting heat source project. And on this basis, the paper analyzes the investment estimation and financial benefits of the project. At the end, the paper summarizes the analysis results and makes the outlook for future research.
