The measurement of city pipeline facilities location is an important part of city municipal measurement. The city traditional methods of measurement positioning is the method of total station relative measurement with the tape, but the rapid development of the city not only makes a great error on the measurement accuracy, but also brings a great deal of inconvenience in the work convenient. Especially when there is no standard of reference, the use of the relative measurement method is not practical, so the relative measurement of positioning methods can not meet the measurement positioning work of the pipeline facilities of the modern city, and even affect the normal municipal management and maintenance. With the development of modern surveying and mapping science and technology, resulting in a new city measure positioning methods, including GPS measurement positioning method and the CORS measurement positioning method. How these new approaches will be measured in the city pipeline facilities to the effective application of measurement positioning, as well as to improve the positioning methods of the traditional measurement is the focus of this study, but also the realistic basis and theoretical basis in this paper.Combined with practical work in the city positioning, in the face of different occasions, such as residential streets, construction site, measuring and positioning. Because of the observation area in the complex degree different from precision, reliability and operation convenience of two aspects to consider, using different pipeline measurement positioning method, such as the relative measurement, the known coordinates or resection measurement, GPS RTK and CORS measurement positioning method, complete city line measurement positioning. A comparative analysis of each method has its own characteristics and advantages. Especially proposed two kinds of combination methods such as relative measurement with known coordinates or resection measurement method, GPS RTK complexes with known coordinates or resection measurement method, in the surveyed area under special conditions apply, verified the analysis, implementation of the two combination methods the feasibility of applying, these new technology and these new methods can not only satisfy the city municipal measurement needs, reduce the measuring cost, enhance the measuring work efficiency, but also reduce the measurement error, and improve measurement accuracy.Each measurement method combining the Wuhan city pipeline completion measurement case, from the azimuth closure, wire length relative closing precision as well as the unknown point position error index verification precision of data, ensure the validity and reliability of measurement results.
