An erosive wear test machine(EWTM) was designed and producedaccording to the production and experiment requirements. High chromium castiron Cr18W2was carried out erosive wear test on the EWTM. The anti-acid-erosion property and erosive wear mechanism were investigated. The resultsshow that:Limestone-gypsum slurry was put into the slurry tank to test the EWTMproperty. The diameter of the EWTM chuck was130mm, and the temperature ofthe slurry was easily controlled from52to56centigrade, with the pH value of5.4to6.4and the rotate speed of600r/min. The results show that the EWTM isreasonable in design, the experimental performance is stable, and theexperimental parameters are controllable, which satisfy the experimentalrequirements.The melted Cr18W2high chromium cast iron with2.5%and3.3%carboncontent was carried out the corrosion experiment in H2SO4solution with pH=1.The results show the cast iron with some anti-etching performance.The Cr18W2high chromium cast iron and the current impeller materialwere used to carry out contrast erosive wear experiment in the limestone-gypsumslurry, and the erosion wear mechanism was investigated. The results indicatethat the erosion property of the limestone-gypsum slurry is much greater than thewear property. The martensite and ledeburite in the matrix are firstly corroded,and the anti-corrosion and wear carbide are bared out, then the carbide lost thematrix support would be washed off by the slurry, the corrosion speeds up thewear of the material. Meanwhile, though the material was low cost in preparing, the erosion wear property is far less than the original impeller material. Theresults also indicate that the prepared Cr18W2high chromium cast iron, whichjust takes the main elements, C, Cr and W into account, is not good enough in theanti-erosion performance and is not ideal for the desulfurization slurry circulationpump impeller. Changing C and Cr to adjust the Cr/C ratio, increasing the Cu andNi contents to be a suitable value can be used to improve the erosive wearproperty under that condition.
