With the rapid development of the world economy, the income and living standards of the world’s inhabitants had increased. In the course of urban development, the development of the city has gone through several stages of the agricul tural society, industrial-based society, post-industrial society, information society. With the enlargement of the city and the rapid economic growth in every city from low to high during the evolution, gradually produce the attendant problem of traffic congestion, environmental pollution and ecological degradation, the inevitable the evolutionary trend has led to growing concern Habitat environment and their own survival state.With the arrival of the post-industrial society,"livablity" has become the increasing goal of ideal human homes. Australia’s artificial water system is a model of the organic combination between artificial environment and natural environment. In this paper, we explored the relationship of the artificial water envi ronment in Queensland of Australia and its urban livable degrees. The artificial water system formed an appropriate space scale and texture skin and created a multi-layer landscape. Two sets of water and land transportation system are compact and convenient. And the friendly neighborhood relationship created a good social environment. The lifestyle and the natural environment of the residents have achieved a high degree of harmony. This paper focuses on discussing how the artificial water system made the geographical factors, environmental factor, the space form and the behavior of people mode relationship, artificial water place characteristics and livable psychological corresponding relation. Through the comparison of the domestic region of rivers and lakes, we hope to provide a reference to build livable cities in the new period of China by finding novel planning ideas and design skills.
