Population aging is the inevitable result of social progress, China has entered the aging society in the last century, after entering twenty-first Century, the elderly population is still growing at an annual rate of3.2%,the number of China’s elderly population will reach28%of the population, more than400million in2050, the situation of old-age care is very serious. How to solve the pension problem,and provide a comfortable living environment for the elderly is widelycncerned by the whole society.With the increasingly serious energy problem, huge building energy consumption,in China, serious environmental pollution, so the government have started to implement the policy of energy saving and emission reduction, and also to promote green building, through this we can save resources, protect environment,,reduce building energy consumption,and realize the harmonious development of human beings and nature.The family structure of China has become miniaturized increasingly in recent years, and people change the conpect of pension, apartments for the elderly is more and more popular with old people, the elderly are also pay more attention to the apartments for the elderly living environment to meet their physical and psychological needs,,to perfect living environmental of apartments for the elderly and to create a comfortable living space for the elderly has become a top priority of the architect.The innovation of this paper is the green design concept through to progject design, to explore the lives of the living environment suitable for the physical and mental characteristics of the elderly from the architectural design and application of appropriate technology.This paper analyzes the needs of living environment and should pay attention to the problem from the elderly physiological, psychological and behavioral change.And through behavior observation combined with the questionnaire,to make an investigation to several old apartments, conducted in-depth research of its architectural design, interior space, the outdoor environment, and the applications of energy-saving technology, in order to discovery and summarizes the problems in the apartment and provide a realistic basis for the following senior green apartment design strategies. To find the main points of the apartments for the elderly in architectural design from the aspects of site selection, green public space design, application of solar technology, intelligent technology, apartment management, and to build a healthy and comfortable living environment on the basis of ability for older people.Take Linuo apartments for the elderly for example to show the research of the theory, to provide information and.guildance recommendations to design and construction of apartment for the elders in the future.
