| Currently, semi-rigid asphalt pavement has become most of our classified highway pavement and that played a positive role in promoting the development of China’s transportation. In recent years, with the rapid development of economy, classified highway gradually showing the characteristics of the heavy traffic, overloading and channel traffic, and the durability of pavement structure has been seriously influenced, which can also cause more serious damage to the pavement structure in the early. The problem of insufficient durability of semi-rigid asphalt pavement has been seriously hampered the healthy development of highway construction. In this paper, to response the actual demand which to improve the durability of heavy-duty graded highway, draw on long-life asphalt pavement structure design concept, reference of the new technologies and methods of highway pavement structure design and construction. Consequently, both the methods of material testing and numerical simulation are used for evaluating the reasonableness of the design of the existed heavy-duty graded highway pavement structure. In addition, combined with the actual situation in Pingdingshan city area, proposed the suitable pavement structure for heavy-duty graded highway. The main contents and conclusions are as follows:(1) Through the post occupancy evaluation of graded highway in Pingdingshan, analyze the damage characteristics of the graded highway asphalt pavement in the case of heavy-duty in this region. Study its damage reason, evaluate the reasonableness of the commonly used asphalt pavement structure. The reasonableness of asphalt pavement structure will be evaluated after understanding the damage reason.(2) Combined with laboratory experiments and make the uniaxial compressive test and splitting test on the core samples of different types of pavement structure segment and then judged the durability of pavement structure combination. Based on the performance and investment of road, the test on Road Performance on asphalt mixture with anti-rutting agent could evaluate the reasonableness of the heavy-duty graded highway pavement structure.(3) Nonlinear numerical simulation will be used to analysis the semi-rigid pavement structure of different types of materials under heavy-duty. After researching the mechanical response every layer of pavement structure composed of different base materials under overload, the life of semi-rigid asphalt pavement structure can be estimated.(4) Base on the main research content, as well as the problem of the use of semi-rigid asphalt pavement structure and the local materials, proposed the suitable pavement structure for heavy-duty graded highway.The research of this paper provides some theoretical support to reduce road early disease and improves the performance of the heavy-duty graded highway. It also laid the foundation to extend the service life of the asphalt pavement structure and reduces pavement life cycle cost. |
