Sectional permanent magnet low-speed linear motor can realize the constant low speed linear motion on the long distance, without the use of variable frequency equipments and gears. Its stator is designed sectional to make its power supply proceeds sectional. It reduces the wastage of the runtime drastically, so it has wide application potential. Due to the unique design structure and principle of the motor, there exist strong coupling nonlinearity and structural diversity, and there is no systematic theory now.First of all, this paper reviews the status of the research about low-speed motor and permanent magnet low-speed linear motor simply, introduces the elementary structure and basic principle of sectional permanent magnet low-speed linear motor when it can operate at low speed and its stator is sectional. And then analyze its air-gap magnetic field with the air-gap magnetic guided wave, at the same time obtain the basic section’principles from the analysis of the sectional period’effect when its stators are sectional. Based on the analysis of its air-gap magnetic field, combined with its equivalent circuit model and the calculation of performance parameters, design the physical model of sectional permanent magnet low-speed linear motor referring to the design of rotary motor, get the range and calculation formula of the motor’s rotor and stator. Then use the artificial bee colony algorithm to optimize parameters which are from the motor’s physical model design, obtain the scheme of optimization design, and compare with the initial scheme. At the end, this article uses ANSYS software to realize the two-dimensional electromagnetic field simulation of motor’s physical model, analyzes the simulation result, and concludes the rationality of the motor’s optimization.
