| In order to provide a theoretical basis of gerbera culture in the substrate, the effects of temperature during the seedling phase and the nutrient concentration during flowering budding phase on the growth and the absorbance of nutrient of the plant were investigated in gerbera (cultivar’Sunshine Coast’) crops in substrate that mixed by wheat barn, corn cobs, and cow dung in a volume proportion of3:2:1. A completely randomized experiment design was developed including two kinds of treatments:Different temperature treatments during the seedling stage:Each treatment was transferred to growth chamber two weeks after transplantation of the plant. The day/night temperature in the growth chamber was tuned to15/10,20/15,25/20, and30/25℃, respectively. Three replications per treatment were involved in the experimental design for a period of47days. Each experimental plot comprised of40gerbera plants. The result shows that the fresh and dry weight of aboveground part and root and the average numbers of leaves and lateral roots were higher at30/25℃than other treatments. The highest level of macroelements N, P, K in the leaf was also observed at higher temperature of25/20℃and30/25℃. There is no significant influence on Zn content of leaf under different temperature. At30/25℃, Fe and Mn content in the plant were significantly lower than other treatments. In the meanwhile, gerbera leaves turned red at15/10℃and20/15℃, and the rubification extent of leaves was correlated to the temperature level and the treatment durationDifferent nutrient concentration treatments during the flower budding stage:The gerbera seedlings were planted in the pots filled with the substrate that metioned above. Gerbera jamesonii was irrigated with0.5folds,1fold,1.5folds, and2folds of nutrient solution when the buds were showed up in above50%of the plant. Each plant was Irrigated200ml nutrient, and irrigated every7days. Three replications per treatment were involved in the experimental design for a period of21days. Each experimental plot comprised of20gerbera plants. The result shows that the fresh and dry weight of aboveground part of the plants irrigated with1.5folds of nutrient solution during the flowering budding period were higher than other treatments; the fresh and dry weight of root irrigated with1and1.5folds of nutrient solution was higher than0.5and2folds of nutrient solution treatments. Therefore, plants that irrigated with1.5folds of nutrient solution grown better from the morphology point of view. There’s no significant difference of N in the leaves of plant at different nutrient treatments. The highest level of P in the plant and leaves were both found at1.5folds of nutrient solution. The plants that irrigated with0.5and2folds of nutrient solution were found higher K than the other treatments. The absorbance of Zn, Fe and Mn of the plant was decreased with nutrient concentration raise up.In general,25℃~30℃is better for gerbera plants growing and accumulation of nutrient in the plant during the seeding period. The growth vigor of the plant was stronger under1.5folds of nutrient solution treatment during the flowering budding period. |
