The header and bundling control system on self-propelled corn stalk silage bundlingharvester were designed to fulfill harvesting the corn ears while rubbing and baling stalks.The composition of the self-propelled corn stalk silage bundling harvester was determinedaccording to the process requirement of corn harvesting and stalk bundling. The wholemachine consisted corn header, conveyer screw, elevator, ear box and bundling unit. Theharvester could harvest four rows corns at one time. Ears were taken off by the snapping rolls,then collected by the conveyer screw and peeled by the peeling device, conveyed to the earbox at last. Stalks were cut off by the rot beater under the corn header, conveyed to therubbing and cutting device, then threw to the grass box after rubbed, conveyed by the feedingmechanism to the bundling unit and bundled at last. Automatic control system was used in thebundling process and manual operation was not needed. The harvester can fulfill corn earsharvesting and stalk cutting, conveying, rubbing, bundling at one time. The harvester cansolve the problems such as labor shortage in the harvesting season and corn stalk can not betimely silage used.The corn header adopted double-layer header structure. The upper header composed ofsnapping rolls, separating plant device and reel chain. The upper header could fulfill takingoff and collecting corn ear. The structure of the snapping rolls was determined and the maintechnical parameters of the snapping rolls were designed according to the main structurescheme. The lower header composed of rot beater, conveying device, chopping device andthrowing device. It could finish works such as cutting, conveying, chopping and throwing.The rot beater blade was designed to straight edge flat blade and fastened with blots for repairand replace. Conveying device used pressure roller conveyor, which mainly composed ofteeth rolls and smooth rolls, and could compact the straws to improve transmission efficiencyand rubbing quality.On the basis of analyzing the structure and working principle of the existing corn stalkschopping device, cylinder chopping was developed. The cylinder device composed of movingblades, bolts, bush and axis. The moving blades were divided into two groups and installedstaggering15°, each group of blades evenly arranged in the bush to ensure the uniformity ofthe straw chopping. The bundling process automatic control system was designed. The control system took51MCU as core, took encoder, micro switch as detection devices and took electromagneticclutch, hydraulic value as actuators. The control on the actuators was fulfilled by signalreceiving, processing, outputting. The automatic control in the main links such as feeding,bale density detecting, rope giving, rope cutting and door opening and closing was fulfilled.The manpower was saved and the efficiency and reliability in the work were improved.The designs and calculations on the critical parts and the prototype pattern were finished.The prototype was manufactured in Shandong Rongchenghaishan mechanical manufacturingcompany and the experiments was conducted in Rongcheng and Jilin Songyuan. The resultshows, the prototype works well, safely and reliably and the main parameter can satisfy silagetechniques and prototype design requirement.
