Basic farmland as a high-quality part of the arable land resources, with superior naturalendowments and geographic conditions, is the bottom line of China’s farmland protection. Fora long time, with a large number of economic and social developments, urbanization,industrialization process deep, the amount of urban construction land is growing rapidly,through the annual land use change survey and land satellite images enforcement resultsshowing that a large number of arable land and even the basic farmland are occupied. Basicfarmland area is declining, the basic farmland protection work is facing enormous pressure,the contradiction between eating and construction is become increasingly prominent. Howscientifically and reasonably to demarcate basic farmland, and to protect our "life insurancefield" is particularly important.After I study systematically domestic and foreign scholars on basic farmland demarcatedmethod, sum up the majority of researchers idea that is to use the land suitability, agriculturalland classification, agricultural real estate accounting and other land survey results,considering the physical geography of the arable land social and economic factors to build thearable land selected for the basic farmland index system, and then the assignment inaccordance with the weights, in turn, in accordance with the scores level of opt-in, until theplanning of the number of indicators. This approach is scientific idea, and often used in theday-to-day planning and management. However, this idea ignores the land resources as asystem of mutual conversion between the inside around the class rules, exposing the spacedistribution of indicators are somewhat static planning, lack of the lack of dynamic prediction.CLUE-S model is popular at home and abroad in recent years on LUCC dynamicsimulation model, Using Logistic regression analysis, considering the natural, economic,social and other driving factors of land use change, the model dynamically simulates land-usepattern of spatial variation. Domestic and foreign researchers apply successfully the model toland use simulation, environmental assessment, and other fields that showing a strong spatialsimulation.The paper based on systematically combing at home and abroad on the theory andapplication examples of the basic farmland demarcated and CLUE-S model use the innovative CLUE-S model to demarcate basic farmland. The paper chooses Lin Tong District in Xi’an asstudy area, using land use status in2009, singling out the basic farmland as equivalent to thecultivated land and forests land type to class, comprehensively analyze of the study area andeconomic and social development, screening out the driving factors, planning targets in2020as forecast demand, using the CLUE-S model to demarcate basic farmland. The results showthat the method has a certain scientific and rationality, that is a useful exploration ofdemarcating basic farmland method.
