This essay was based on3representative levels (B2F、C3F、X2F) of318samples of flue-cured tobacco from22towns of Xuanwei county, and we analyzed their appearance quality, main chemical components and sensory taste, then we identified the tobacco quality and different regional tobacco style characteristics. The main research conclusions are as followings:1. Over90%tobacco leaf color was orange; leaf structure of middle and lower parts tobacco leaf were loose, but leaf structure of upper part tobacco leaf was close; leaf body was thin relatively; leaf maturity was open,leaf oil was "oily-less oil",leaf color intensity was "moderate-weak". There was no significant difference in upper leaf color between different towns, but there was significant difference in middle and lower leaf between different towns. There were significant differences in upper, middle and lower leaves on leaf body and leaf oil between different towns. There were significant differences in upper and middle leaf structure between different towns.2、In Xuanwei County, the chemical components of tobacco leaf were harmonious. Main features were①leaf total sugar content was31.5%averagely, reducing sugar content was25.%averagely; leaf nicotine content was1.95%averagely, total nitrogen was1.83%averagely; The ratio of reducing sugar to nicotine was higher,14.2averagely, and the ratio of total nitrogen to nicotine was higher,0.99averagely; starch average content was3.20%。②Rich in aroma substances。samples of78.6%average ether content range was4-6%; samples of76%average volatile alkali content range was lower than0.3%; chlorogenic acid and rutin average content were16.03mg/g and16.33mg/g respectively.③ombustion property:K2O and Cl content of tobacco leaf were lower, averagely1.49%and0.16%respectively.3、tobacco leaf aroma type was typically faint scent in Xuanwei, the aroma type of lower and middle leaf were more typical than upper leaf.the score of smoke conglobation, smoke dry sensation, smoke sweet, softness were higher. Upper leaf quality grade was "moderate-better",middle leaf quality grade was "Upper middle-better", Lower leaf quality grade was "moderate-Upper middle". Tobacco leaf from Xuanwei had middle strength, medium-scale thickness, better smoke conglobation, lower dry sensation, clear smoke sweet, soft smoke, better aroma quality, comparatively adequate aroma quantity, better after-taste, little offensive odor, smaller irritation, moderate combustibility, gray cigarette ash.4、The faint scent typicality and quality of aroma and taste of "ripe" leaf were higher than other leaves; when the color deepened and the body thickened, the faint scent typicality went lower, and the total smoking quality score went lower. There were Highly significant positive correlation between Carbon compounds such as total sugar, reducing sugar, starch,the ratio of reducing sugar to nicotine and the quality and scent typicality.There were Highly significant negative correlation between nitrogen compounds such as nicotine, total nitrogen, volatile alkali, and the quality and scent typicality.Comprehensive analysis showed that, for the same parts and the same level of tobacco leaf, the appearance and physical indicators had relatively weak impact on the quality of flue-cured tobacco style; chemical indicators, especially themajor chemical indicators such as total sugar, reducing sugar, nicotine, total nitrogen, chlorine and volatile alkali, sulfur, starch had greater impact on quality of flue-cured tobacco style.
