Culturing ducks in rice fields is an ecological culturing and is a successful example of integrating social, economic with ecological efficiency. The mode of culturing ducks in rice fields has a long history in China, some experiences have been accumulated. With the continuous promoting of modern agriculture, many even higher requirements for the structure of rice fields have been brought up, traditional co-culturing mode of duck and rice can not alleviate the pressure on the environment of rice field. The emergence of Internet of things brings dawn for Chinese traditional agriculture and also points a new road for traditional duck culturing in rice fields. Controlling system of duck culturing in rice fields based on Internet of things replaces manpower with computerized intelligent processing and automatic operations of wireless sensing equipments, can control the environment of rice fields subtly and monitor the growing state of duck and rice in real time. The construction of controlling system of duck culturing in rice fields based on Internet of things is of great importance to the development of conservation-oriented and environment-friendly agriculture.Controlling system of duck culturing in rice fields based on Internet of things utilizes the knowledge of computer technology, wireless sensing technology, network technology, data statistics and analysis technology, agricultural science, animal science, economics, etc. Main researching contents include four aspects, such as, building of wireless sensing network, data collecting, analyzing, processing and presentation, construction of farmer management platform, as well as basic database.Construction of wireless sensor network is the prerequisite of this research, mainly including the selection of sensor, the selection of communication protocol of sensor network as well as the design of network topology structure. According to environmental indexes needed to be acquired, such as temperature and photo of paddy field, etc. Next, selects the appropriate monitoring and sensing equipments, such as thermo-sensitive sensor, photosensitive sensor, etc. then, uses ZigBee wireless communication technology to connect these sensing and route equipments to shape a wireless and self-organizing network system. Scientific and reasonable network topology structure is the soul of wireless sensor network. An outstanding network topology structure can not only reduce the complexity of wireless sensor network, save manpower, material resources and financial resources, but also improve the communication efficiency of network. Modules of data collecting, analyzing, processing and representing are mainly responsible for the collecting and format transforming of data from sensors, that is, transform the data collected into the data form conforming to the TCP/IP protocol, and upload them to the sever end of user management platform.Fanner information management platform is the core of this research. In the developing process, the system is divided into several relatively independent layers which are representation layer, task layer, data persisting layer and domain module layer. In each layer, software aiming at different function is provided, they have clear work task and communicate with each other through the communication interface and work collaboratively. At the same time, functions of these layers are connected by the SSH framework to shape a integrated software, this makes the platform have more better extensibility and stability.The construction of bottom database system is the basis of this research. The amount of data collected by wireless sensing equipments is extremely huge, expert decision module of farmer information management platform is also fully depended on the processing function of database. So, the selection of reasonable and highly efficient database is very critical.Main achievements and contributions of this research include:(1) introduces Internet of things into the ecological duck culturing in rice fields, provides new idea for duck culturing in rice fields and the development of modernized agriculture;(2)considers rice and duck as well as rice field environment at the same time, breaks out the limitation of single research object in Internet of things;(3)with economic efficiency and ecological efficiency as prerequisites and the sustainable development of agriculture as foothold, the construction of whole system reduces harm to the rice field environment mostly. The use of this system will alleviate pressure on our farmlands largely and have great function to the protection of rice field.
