BackgroundIn early pregnancy, pregnant women will appear symptoms like loss of appetite, mild nausea and vomiting and so on is called morning sickness. It usually has little effect on work and life, and it will go away without special treatment. But condition at individual pregnant women will develop for hyperemesi s gravidarum, severe nausea and vomiting, ingestion. In severe cases it can occur severe electrolyte disturbances, acid-base imbalance, Wernicke encephalopathy or even death. It will affect the quality of life and even endanger the mother and infant’s life. With the gradual speeding up the rhythm of modern life, it has rising trends in the incidence of hyperemesis gravidarum. So perinatal medical workers have more and more attention on the treatment for hyperemesis gravidarum. In Western medicine, it mainly treat the disease with fluid replacement, nutrition support, antiemetic therapy and symptomatic treatment. Its clinical effect is not ideal because it takes too long time and it needs to treat repeatedly. Besides, the patients are not easy to accept oral drug treatment because they feel suffering pain. Traditional Chinese medicine therapy that has accumulated rich of experience, but it is still lack of the best plan for treatment.PurposeTo study the clinical effect on using acupoint sticking therapy by miscarriage prevention and antiemetic Chinese medicine with rehydration therapy to cure Chinese Medicine type of deficiency of spleen and stomach hyperemesis gravidarum. It is with a view to looking for a way that is safe, effective, simple and practical to cure hyperemesis gravidarum. MethodIn this research, a prospective, randomized clinical trial design will he implemented. They were included in October2010to January2012in Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine subsidiary Nanhai Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospital60cases of pregnant women with hyperemesis gravidarum that met the inclusion criteria. They were divided into a control group (simple rehydration therapy), and the treatment group (acupoint sticking therapy with rehydration therapy). There are30cases in each group. We will observe the situation of the symptoms improved and laboratory indexes returned to normal. Using the statistical software SPSS16.0database to obtain the result through statistics analysis adopting the t test and x2test.ResultThe control group have30cases and the other30cases, no cases of dropout and found no apparent adverse effects. Two groups have no significant differences in baseline (P>0.05). They are comparable. Total course of treatment group average (6.20±2.31d) less than the control group (7.53±2.40d), and two groups have significant differences (P<0.05). After treatment, the two groups of ketone bodies in urine have no significant differences (P>0.05). The total effective rate that the treatment group is higher than the control group, and two groups have no significant differences (P>0.05). The cute rate of the treatment group is86.7%, and the control group is63.3%. The treatment group is better than the control group, and two groups have significant differences (P<0.05).Cone I us ionIt can effectively improve the patients’symptoms, reduce treatment time, return laboratory indexes to normal, and improve the clinical cure rate by using acupoint sticking therapy at "NeiGuan and ZhongWan" with miscarriage prevention and antiemetic Chinese medicine "ShaRen, SuYe, Shengjiang" combined with rehydration therapy to cure Chinese Medicine type of deficiency of spleen and stomach hyperemesis gravidarum. This method is safe, effective, simple, practical, and worthy of clinical application.
