Objective:This study was to explore the treatment method ofschatzker type Ⅵ tibial plateau fractures through summarized andanalyzed on the effective of the fracture, including the fracturereduction,short-term function and long-term function afteroperation, treated by lateral or medial locking compression plate(Locking Compression Plate,LCP), For the clinical treatment of suchdisorders provide a relatively minimally invasive surgicaltreatment options with reference. Methods The clinical information(including medical record, inagingmaterial and follow-up data)of the46patients who were sufferedfrom bicondylar of the tibial plateau fractures treated withunilateral LCP alone from May2010to January2013in Orthpedeicsof Wuhan General Hospital of Guangzhou Command was be collected.Theresearch objects(Schatzker type: all cases of type Ⅵ) wereselected based on pre-established inclusion criteria, exclusioncriteria, and fall off the standard. According to the following-upplan draw up in the study, the contents such as thesymptoms, signs,Imaging data and the knee function were regularlycollected. Efficacy of the fracture fixation explored bypostoperative fracture bone healing time, reduction of the fracturewith or without lost, recovery situation of the knee function. Efficacy assessment by the American Hospital for Special SurgeryHSS the knee function evaluation criteria include pain, the kneefunction, range of motion, muscle strength, flexion deformity, joint the stability of, and the need to orthosis and varus-valgusdeformity.Results The research objects(Schatzker type: all cases of typeⅥ) were selected based on pre-established inclusioncriteria, exclusion criteria, and fall off the standard,45caseswere selectded, but the actual cases in the study were41for4casesof them fall off.23males and18female, with an average age of41.2(1976) years, all cases were treated with unilateral LockingCompression Plate or medial and lateral double plate, of which21cases were treated with simple external side of the lockingcompression plate, eight cases of T-shaped locking compressionplate to the inside of the application of purely,and12cases weretreated with medial and lateral double plate. All patients follow-up ranged from5to20months,41cases of fracture healing, theaverage healing time was about13.5±1.4weeks,fracture locationand good lines of force, the articular surface is flat, kneefunction was normal, no reset lost. The knee function was evaluatedby HSS scores; The group of unilateral locking compression plate:12cases showed excellent, good in12cases, medium5cases and0poor results, the excellent and good results were82.76%; The groupof medial and lateral double plate:6cases showed excellent, goodin4cases, medium1cases and1poor results, the excellent andgood results were83.33%. In the knee function of the group ofunilateral locking compression plate had no significant differencebetween the group of medial and lateral double plate. Conclusion Most patients with Schatzker type Ⅵ tibial plateaufractures do well when treated with lateral Locking CompressionPlate or medial “T”-shaped Locking compression Plate alone forits minimal invasion, better protect the soft tissue, less damageto the blood supply of the fracture site, reliable function, andpostoperative effects certainly. Is an effective method for thetreatment of the Schatzker type Ⅵ tibial plateau fractures.Butits lack of bulk、long-term efficacy of observation,so it needsto be further in-depth observed and researched.
