This paper studys the anti-inflammatory effect of Pinellia ternate. Mice aorta endothelial cell is utilized, stimulated by lipopolysaccharide,to establish inflammatory model,to study the influences of Pinellia ternate on inflammatory factor. The results show that there is certain anti-inflammatory effect in Pinellia ternate, and the activity of Rhizoma Pinelliae is the strongest.This paper studys the effects of Pinellia ternate on the cell multiplication, glucose consumption, secretion of aspartate aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase, to study the hepatotoxicity of Pinellia ternate. The results show that there is cytotoxicity in Pinellia ternate, while the dosages are below10mg-L-1,the toxicity is weak;at the dosage20mg-L-1, the inhibition on the cell multiplication is obvious. The cytotoxicity of unprocessed Pinellia ternate is stronger than processed ones. The toxicities of fractions from unprocessed Pinellia ternate become stronger as the solvent polarities rise.This paper studys the fat reduction of Pinellia ternate.3T3-L1Preadipocyte is used to establish high fat model, determination the cholesterol contents in adipocyte is used to research the fat reduction of Pinellia ternate. The results show that some compositions of processed Pinellia ternates,at the dosage of10mg·L"1decrease the cholesterol accumulation.Among the processed ones, fraction from petroleum in Rhizoma Pinelliae and fraction from95%ethanol in Rhizoma Pinelliae Preparata significantly decrease the cholesterol accumulation,the effects surpass the unprocessed Pinellia ternateThis paper also analyzes disparities of potencies between processed Pinellia ternates and unprocessed Pinellia ternate, differences of chemical constituents. Partial least squares regression in software of Matlab is applied to analyze correlation between datas of High Pressure Liquid chromatography and anti-inflammatory effect. Analytic results indicate that "efficacy constituents" composed of peak X15, X16,X17make contribution to influences of Pinellia ternates on interleukin-6secretion and "efficacy constituents" composed of peak X1, X4, X5, X7, X9, X12, X13, X14make contribution to influences of Pinellia ternates on tumor necrosis factor a secretion.
