The paper takes a tentative study of the similarities and differences of the locative phrases (locatives used after nouns) in Chinese and Tibetan. It is divided into six main parts, and the main contents are as following:Part 1 describes the forms, the meanings, the prototypical markers and the cognitive relations of the locatives in the two languages as well as the interrelations among the forms, the meanings and the cognition.Part 2 discusses the constructing ways of the locatives with the nouns and points out the meanings of the nouns count in the process.Part 3 analyzes the formation and definition of the locative phrases between Chinese and Tibetan, and takes a case study of the forms and meanings of the Chinese phrase "N +zhi((之)+locative" and Tibetan phrase "N+(?)[[k’i]+locative"Part 4 investigates the use of the particle "de(的)’’in Chinese locative phrases and the concealing and revealing rule of the particle"(?)[k’i]" in Tibetan locative phrases.Part 5 studies the concealing and revealing rule of the locatives in the locative phrase in Chinese and Tibetan.Part 6 examines the similarities and differences of the locative phrases in their syntactic functions, and their restrictive factors of the meanings of the collocated nouns and the language types of SVO\SOV.
