Forest Industrial Heritage And It’s Protection And Utilization

Industrial heritage of human industrial civilization is the milestone of scientific and technological development during that period, and witnesses the development of human civilization. Thus, it should obviously become the research object of technological history studies. Forest industrial heritage is an imperative part of industrial heritage, as well as an important research object of technological history studies. From the aspect of international academic research, it is generally held that problems of industrial heritage has become the most dynamic areas of technological history research, and as industrial archaeology (industrial heritage research) was turned into an academic school in the history of technology, we witness the importance of industrial heritage in the field of the history of technology. However, in China, relevant studies are not well-developed at present, and researches on industrial heritage is only just beginning. Researchers come mainly from fields of urban planning, architecture, landscape design, engineering, geography, environmental studies and other natural science. Even more, Few researchers set their feet on the heritage of the forest industry. Thus, the thesis attempts to make up this shortfall.The thesis traces researches on the history of industrial heritage at home and abroad from perspective of technological history, and further delimitates the definition of the heritage of forest industry, which serves as an integral parts of industrial heritage. Then the thesis discusses the nature value structure, concepts and procedures of the forest industrial heritage and takes Yichun forest industrial heritage as a typical example. Through the survey of industrial heritage in Yichun forest, the thesis points out relevant problems and difficulties, and further explains the industry heritage building model, the value of forest industrial heritage protection and the its cultural significance on urban renaissance in Yichun forest.The thesis is composed of an introduction and following three chapters. The introduction part presents questions, and describes research perspective, methods, purpose and meaning on the basis of literature review and further analysis. Chapter 1 offers a general introduction of the forest industry heritage. Chapter 2 then introduces the history, nature, and value of the forest industrial heritage. Chapter 3 presents more case studies of forest industrial heritage.
