| Numeral should have strict boundaries and definiteness, its notable features arethe accuracy in expression concept, but numeral often has connotative meaning ofphantom reference in sentences. This article compared Chinese with Uyghur, andanalyzed their cultural meaning and pragmatic functions, and discussed theprinciples and translation strategy in numeral phantom reference. Finally states thatdifferent ethnic groups with particular numeral preference can bring certaindifficulties in translation, and we should based on the culture and context of phantomreference to understand and translate the sentences, and we should pay attention tothese two kinds of cultural differences, and follows the certain translation principles,then we can achieve equivalent translation. |
