As the continuous development of teaching Chinese as a second language, the study on the textbooks of this subject has also increased a lot duringthe past few years. However, there is still a long way to go for the studyof textbooks aimed at different countries.Korean’s elementary-stage Chinese learners have their ownparticular traits: Their mother language has deep connection with Chinese;most of the students start their Chinese learning during their juniormiddle school; these students usually have a Chinese lesson once a week.I think it is very necessary to do a detailed study on the analysis oftheir own textbooks, in the hope of compiling a perfect elementary-stageChinese textbooks aimed at these particular students groups. This paperwill do a all-around comparison and analysis between two sets of Koreanelementary textbooks, one has been published for a long time while anotheris comparatively new. At the end of this paper, I will come up with severalsuggestions which I hope can be a little useful for the compilation ofelementary Chinese textbooks used by Korean junior middle students.
