The Research Of "Zheng" From The Development Angle, Compared With The General Verbs "Gao" And "Nong"

“Zheng”(整)as a general verb in dialect develops very rapidly nowadays. This paper willmake a deep analysis on this word from three angles, semantic, semantic range and syntax. Weanalyse the evolution of this word, including the stages of evolution, the specific way of how itevolutes and the reasons why it evolutes like this from social, linguistic and cognitive perspectives.The comparisons of the three words “Gao”（“搞”）、“Nong”(“弄”)、“Zheng”(整) are the keypoints of this paper. We investigate how the three words are used in the spoken Chinese in the formof the questionnaire investigation. Based on the investigation, the literature corpus and thenewspaper corpus, this paper comparatively analyzes the differences and similarities between“Gao”（“搞”）、“Nong”(“弄”) and “Zheng”(整) from semantic, syntax and pragmatic perspectives.This paper also analyses the evolution of “Gao”（“搞”）, including the stages of evolution, thespecific way of how it evolutes and the reasons why it evolutes. We comparatively analyze theevolution of “Gao”（“搞”）which entered the Mandarin in1950s,“Nong”(“弄”)which has developedvery well、“Zheng”(整)which has been a dialect word till now. Through the comparison between thegeneral verb in dialect and the general verbs in Mandarin, we want to know the conditions of whicha dialect verb turns into a Madarin verb and the characteristics as a general verb in Mandarin. At thesame time we want to know how the general verb “Zheng”(整) will develop in the future.
