In our country, there are many disabled elders. By the year2007, the disabled and partlydisabled elders had reached35million in China. By using self-report, questionnaire, interview, thisstudy was designed to obtain an understanding of the subjective well—being status among disabledelders and the influencing factors of SWB of disabled elders. In addition, we compare theunderstanding of “well-being” between Chinese disabled elders and Swedish disabled elders; try todo a cross-cultural comparative study, get the different mean of “well-being” in individual countryand collectivistic country.The results show that:(1) Chinese disabled elder’ SWB is significantly lower than the healthyelder; and after the elder present disability, their SWB develop as V-type; according to SWB, thedifferent types of specific disability in descending order are: talk impairment, hearing impairment,visual impairment, limbs impairment.(2) There are three influencing factors of disabled elder’SWB: self-efficacy, social support, disability degree. Which self-efficacy, social support are theintervening variable between disability and SWB.(3) Chinese disabled elder’ SWB aresignificantly different according to different demographic variables, such as: education level,marital status, source of income.(4) Compare to the Swedish disabled elder, after becomedisability the attitude towards life of Chinese disabled elder are more negative; the adaptation wayare also different between them: Swedish are initiative; Chinese are passive.(5) In order toimprove the SWB of disabled elders in China, we observed the Nursing home in Sweden andChina, then gave the suggestion as follow: Cultivate the disabled elder’s self-reliance; encouragethe disabled elder to participate in the collective activities.
