| Metaphor is the essence of the cognitive linguistics. It has been defined as the use of one subject to understand and experience another. Metaphor and Language Acquisition both belong to the field of language cognition. Cognitive linguistics thinks that metaphor is not only a common phenomenon but also affects our way of thinking.Metaphor plays an important role in language teaching. Language teachers can use the theory to explain the change, development process and relations of the meaning of vocabularies. The research on the relations between metaphor and the acquisition of Chinese is of great significance.Chinese Proficiency Test Vocabulary Guideline is drawn up according to the word frequency and the experts’suggestions, which is the guidance document of vocabulary teaching in CAFL (Chinese as a foreign language). It contains 8822 entries, which approximately reflects the visage of Chinese basic vocabulary. It plays an instructive role in the Teaching Chinese as a Second Language and HSK.This paper introduces the feasibility of combining the theory of metaphor with the teaching of Chinese metaphorical vocabularies and puts the emphasis on how to achieve a successful teaching on metaphor vocabularies in Chinese Proficiency Test Vocabulary Guideline and puts forward the ways and strategies on the teaching of Chinese metaphorical vocabularies. |
