| Splendid appellation, also named elegant name, which is oftenused in ancient and modern days, is one of many manifestations andis used to extol people and things. The exquisite titles of Chinesescenic spots which directly or indirectly play up the landscape andprotrude the features、importance、functions and influence of touristattractions are designed to praise the places of interest.Our country has many wonderful mountains and rivers and theresources of tourism are abundant, so there many good names forthem accordingly. The dainty appellations for the scenic spots as oneof many expressions of names are integral to the excellent traditionalculture of China and deeply rooted in various scenic spots, theelegant names of which have a lively and bright feature and exactlyhighlight their characteristics、functions and attractions. Theemergence and wide use of these exquisite appellations makes theplaces of interest have novel substitutes and provides unique visual angle.The whole thesis covers exordium、theme and conclusion. Thetheme includes : in the second chapter, there are the statistic resultsand analyses, from which we can know the total sums of the exquisitenames of scenic spots、distributed condition in each province and therelationship between the number of the elegant names and the placesof interest; in the third chapter, according to the ingredients, theChinese dainty appellations can be divided into two types----natureand humanities, which are analyzed in detail; in the fourth chapter,the compositive ways and characteristics of these splendidappellations are key to the theme.
