Practice Report On The Translation Of The Introduction To Yancheng’s Three Ecotourism Scenic Spots

China boasts rich tourism resources and receives an increasing number of foreign tourists, which not onlypromotes the economic growth but also provides great opportunity for cultural exchanges with foreign countries;introduction to scenic spots usually contain abundant cultural and historical information of scenic spots and playsan important role in conveying culture and publicizing tourist spots; In July2013, the author was authorized atranslation task with a certain scale of11,139Chinese characters by Yancheng Municipal Tourism Bureauwithin25days and translated Chinese introduction to Dafeng Elk Natural Reserve, Red-Crowned CraneProtected Area, Dazong Lake Holiday Resort, into English; under the guidance of skopos theory, the authorapplies the translation methods and translation strategies to the translating practice of Yancheng’s introduction toscenic spots.On the basis of the translation task, the present translation practice report briefly introduces the process ofthe complementation of translation task, discusses and analyzes the translation methods with practical examplesand summarizes the experiences from the translation practice; The whole thesis consists of five parts: the firstpart is an introduction of the background and significance of the task;the second part introduces the origin oftranslation task, functional analysis of the text and the language characteristics of source text; the third partreviews the process of translation, including pre-translation preparation, in-translation and quality control oftranslation task.; the fourth part discusses the application of translation strategies and methods in translatingwords and sentences of introduction to scenic spots based on functional equivalence theory, and in her practicaltranslation, the author focuses on the translation of Chinese vocabulary and sentences and illustrates thetranslation strategies and skills with the actual translated version; The last part summarizes the whole practicalexperiences.The significance of this report is to analyze the translation procedures and summarize the principles andmethods for the Chinese-English translation of introduction to scenic spots with practical examples andexperiences, and it is hoped this report can provide some beneficial references for the research and practice ofChinese-English translation of introduction to scenic spots.
