With the rising of China’s international status, the world has set off a wide range of Chinese hot, this phenomenon on the one hand stand for the improvement of the status of Chinese, which is worth of our fortunate and proud; on the other hand, under this wave of Chinese hot, there are various deficiencies in Chinese teaching, including the phenomenon of shortcomings in culture teaching in Chinese which is lightened in this paper, we need timely corrections in order to promote the further expansion of the Chinese in the world. In the practice of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages, many teachers think of the voice, vocabulary, grammar and other aspects of Chinese are important and take them as learning guide. Admittedly, this played a big role in teaching foreign students quickly and help them master the Chinese language. However, the language is, after all, is a "living" cultural phenomenon, if we teach foreign students from the pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar and other aspects of Chinese teaching, student learning will lead to "anemia", that is, just to grasp the general means of communication, but did not understand the huge cultural connotations behind Chinese, this will certainly affect the foreign students learning Chinese deeply, and may even reduce the motivation to learn because the teaching methods are boring. Cultural learning can play a regulatory role, make boring language teaching become lively. This paper attempts to demonstrate the important role of culture in teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language from five aspects. The first part of the paper from time sequence, discusse the definition of culture, emphasize the core of the culture should be "people". The second part briefly describes the characteristics of Chinese culture, namely, continuity, inclusiveness, groups, ethical. The third part, discuss the relationship between culture and language to further point out that teaching Chinese as a foreign language can not be separated from culture learning. The fourth part is the focus of this article, which discuss how to reflect the importance of culture in words and expressions. The fifth part, from a practical perspective, highlight the neglects of culture teaching in the basic teaching of Chinese as a foreign language we think that even in the foundation stage, the students’Chinese level is low, but we still should emphasize the role of culture.
