With the continuousdevelopment of China’s economic strength and the rising of international status, andan increasingly important position in the world economy and culture, Chinashoulder the responsibility to spread Chinese culture, to provide high-quality teaching."Confucius Institute" has provided excellent learning environment for the people whoare interested in Chinese language, and these institutes are established like mushroomall over the world.At the same time it also sets off a craze of foreigners to learn Chinese, more andmore foreigners became interested in Chinese culture. Meantime, there is morelearning about the Chinese as a second language. Vocabulary teaching as the mostimportant aspect in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, and the related research isbecoming increasingly detailed and in-depth.Idiom is important and special kind ofvocabulary teaching in a class. And are also the important and difficult parts invocabulary teaching. it has the features of refined and accurate, user-friendly, vivid,humorous subtle these linguistic characteristics, Interests of the students, but also animportant way to disseminate Chinese culture and it also provides a good opportunityfor training students to have cross-cultural communication.With the development of modern information technology, more and moreInternet resources can be used. we can also study through video resources on theInternet to get a lot of things are not included in our books more and more videoresources can be applied to the teaching areas. the proportion of video recourses hasbeen gradually increased. Video resources occupy a unique advantage in teaching, which combines images,sounds, text, giving a strong visual impact. It is able to stimulate multiple sensesof the students, to enhance students ’understanding of the knowledge and memoryability, as well as to mobilize the initiative and enthusiasm of the students’ learningprocess. This will just make up for the difficulties when we teach Chinese Idiomswhich are likely to be misunderstood, misused, or abuse of them.Therefore, this paper aims to combine video teaching resources and idiomsteaching together to seek a better idiom teaching methods. In this way we canmobilize the interest of the students to learn idioms, and use idioms in real life. Itcan provide a new opportunity to enhance students’ understanding of Chineseculture, and improve cross-cultural communicative competence of studentsfor teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language.
