In this paper, we supposed to comprehensively analyze a electivecourse’s textbook of teaching Chinese as second language, A Course inChinese Colloquial Idioms, which pressed by Beijing Language and CultureUniversity Press, and put forward some opinions and suggestions, with thehope of inspiring compiling teaching materials, teachers and learners. Throughthe specific investigation of four teaching steps, words choosing of teachingmaterials, text design, comments and illustration, and practices, we will takethe ontology theory of textbook compilation of teaching Chinese as ForeignLanguage as foothold, analyze the advantages and disadvantages of teachingmaterial, and present our opinions and suggestions on some specific relatedissues.This paper will finish the subject research from the following aspects:First, introduction. In this part, we first illustrate the origin and meaning ofthe subject. Then we review the research status of the teaching materials offoreign Chinese teaching, through which we study out the idea of this paper.Second, the main body. The main body of this paper is comprehensivelyanalyzing A Course in Chinese Colloquial Idioms, and achieving someopinions and suggestions. As the core of the paper, we strived to analyze theteaching material more objective in the research process. Through theconcrete statistical survey, we discussed the existing problems which wethough in the teaching material and put forward the corresponding solution. Inthe study, we put more attention on analyzing some outstanding problems.Besides, we gave prominence to the key points, so that the paper’s structure isdetailed slightly proper.Third, the supplementary discussion. Based on the research of thesecond part, in order to not disturb the paper’s logical sequence, we had some supplementary opinions and suggestions composing this part to end this paper.In this part, we put forward some opinions and suggestions from the point ofview of the evaluation of teaching materials, with the hope of helping improveteaching materials in the future.
