Many achievements have been made by experts in the Chinese-English translationfield and many schools of translation theories have been established. Especially inrecent years, researches of explicitation in Chinese-English translation are surging andmany researchers put forward their own unique theory and opinions. In translation, due to differences between Chinese and English, explicitationphenomenon is inevitable. To help the foreign readers and listeners have a betterunderstanding of the writer and the speaker, it is a must for the translator andinterpreter to take explicitation strategy, which is also the requirement of a bettertranslation and interpretation. However, at present, many studies in this aspect aremore focused on translation, and studies of explicitation in interpretation are relativelyfew. The working patterns between translation and interpretation are totally different. The former requires faithfulness, expressiveness and sometimes elegance and thetranslators have enough hours to think; while the latter requires the timeliness andaccuracy, and there is little time for the interpreters to think. As a result, achievementsin explicitation in translation can not well guide the interpreters. The interpreter shouldinterpret according to the speaker while he should also pay attention to the culturalbackground of the listeners as well as other factors. As a result, it is necessary to takethe explicitation strategy. The author tries to discuss explicitation in interpreting from the cooperativeprinciples and explore the cooperation between the interpreter and the speaker byanalyzing the executive interpreting of the press conference in resent years. In this way,the author tends to discuss whether explicitation in the four maxims can bring a moreaccurate and better version. At the same time, the author tries to classify the four kindsof explicitation according to Klaudy’ classification of explicitation.
