A Comparative Research On Modern Chinese And Vietnamese Catering Verbs

China and Vietnam are geographically and cultural close. As a communicativetool，language can reflect cultural diversity.The cultural information contained inlanguage is especially abundant.The catering cultures of the two countries alsohave their own features and international reputations.By searching and studying the related materials，the essence of social life andexperience in China and Vietnam can be reflected from the words with verbalmorphemes on catering.Chinese scholars now has written more research papers about chinese verbson catering，some of them are discussing about the historical development fromancient chinese to modern chinese.Others are mainly studying the culturalphenomena on catering verbs and their Collocations，or transferred meaning ofmetaphor.One of the catering verb “ǎn” has a lot of Lexical collocations, socomparing the catering verbs in chinese and vietnamese means too much for theresearch on comparative study on the words in chinese and vietnamese.The thesis firstly apply the theory of verbal valence to analyze the valence ofcatering verbs for the purpose of knowing actional units which can be controledby verbs. Then what sentence constituents are those objects which match with theverbs will be discussed.Then it will discuss the different choices of objects bychinese and Vietnamese catering verbs and their correspondent culturalconnotation. Meanwhile，the thesis will compare and analyze the folk adageswhich contain catering verbs. At length， it will analyze the significance andapplication of catering verbs in teaching and give out the existed problems andinnovative approaches...
